There is artistic Pergola atop the small hillock island, connected to the mainland with a bridge and a jetty. In mid- 1960’s a famous European artiste Yrsa Von Leistner erected “TwinStatues”, as willed by Mr/s Robert Knox and named them “Far East Travellers”. Dona Paula was the wife of a land lord of Caranzalem and this place was named in her memory. “Dona” means ‘Miss’ in Portuguese and ‘Puala’ was her name. Many fairy tale legends are woven around this enigmatic lady.
