Madh Island is a group of several fishing villages and farmlands in northern Mumbai bounded by Arabian sea to the west and Malad creek to the east. Madh island, traditionally known for Beaches such as Aksa, Dana Paani, Silver Beach, etc. also has an old Fort and a 16th century Portuguese Church – St. Bonaventure. Many Bollywood movies and soap operas have been shot here since time immemorial.

‘Erangal’ is a picturesque village on Madh island which is a popular filming location. Madh Fort situated on the island, also known as Versova Fort, is a structure that was built by the Portuguese to be primarily used as a watchtower. The Fort is now under defence purview.
