The village is situated at a distance of 14 kms from Hindupur Town in Lepakshi Mandal of Anantapur District. Large number of pilgrims visit this place on "SHIVARATHRI" and other saivite festival days

The Lord Veerabhadra Temple at Lepakshi is renowned the world over as one of the 108 Shiva Temple of India. It reflects typical Vijayanagara architecture. The dance hall or the Natya Mandapa is supported by 100 pillars, with finely sculpted figurines of dancing gods. From the middle of the hall emerges a dome, twenty one feet in height, reminiscent of a giant lotus reaching out to heaven. The temple also houses a life size figure of Veerabhadra, sculpted in granite, along with carving of the giant Naga Linga, the great bull, flying Gandharvas, Ganesh etc…
