Amarkantak

Amarkantak is also known as "Teerthraj" - "the king of pilgrimages. It is a well-frequently visited Hindu pilgrimage center and the origin point of holy river Narmada.

The Amarkantak region has a rich natural heritage. It is the meeting point of the Vindhya and the Satpura Ranges, with the Maikal Hills being the fulcrum. Three rivers - the holy Narmada, the Sone, and the Johila - emerge here. This beautiful place is dipped in absolute serenity with the verdant hills, surrounding the entire town, decent climate, charming natural beauty, and bewitching waterfalls. The place is all set to entertain with holy ponds, sparkling streams, and dense forests that are a part of this amazing destination.

Some of the prime attractions in Amarkantak are the Narmadakund and the Ancient Temples of the Kalachuri Period. There are as many as 16 small temples within the temple complex of Narmadakund, which is situated in the heart of the town.
