Dharavi Slum

Dharavi slum is one of the largest slums in the world and serves as home to over 1 million people spread over 557 acres of land. It is also one of the most densely populated areas in the world. It originated in 1882 during the British colonial area and is one of the multi-religious, multi-ethnic and diverse settlement. The slum provides an economical accommodation for workers and labourers having hometown outside Mumbai.
Dharavi also has a large number of thriving small-scale industries that produce embroidered garments, export quality leather goods, pottery and plastic.Dharavi is situated between two main railway lines Western and Central. The hustle and bustle of the slum would take you in a world of its own which is unbelievable and mesmerizing at the same time.
