Kunkeshwar Beach

Kunkeshwar Beach is one of the major attractions of Sindhudurg region because to its long seashore, white sand and activities like swimming and sunbathing. The drive along Kunkeshwar coastal areas offers a stunning Arabian sea views throughout the year. Another important attraction of this beach is the temple of the Hindu deity Shiva known as “The Kunkeshwar” temple. It is believed to be built around the 12th century in the Konkani architectural style by the rulers of the Yadava dynasty. The temple is popularly known as the “Kashi of the Southern Konkan” due to frequent visit of pilgrims for religious purposes
