Lakeview - The two lakes of Bhopal still dominate the city and are indeed its nucleus. The Upper Lake is the oldest man-made lake in India. The lower lake is bathed in an aura of blissful quiet and tranquility, making it perfect for one of the most picturesque places in Bhopal.

Gohar Mahal is ornamented with intricate interior carvings and beautiful decorations on the exterior.  The palace also serves as an exemplary site of the Indo-Islamic architectural style. The great hall chaperones the idyllic lake, while the interiors of the hall host numerous ancient paintings and intricate woodwork and art.

Islam Nagar Fort – Rests in the beautiful, quaint village of Islamnagar, the village has endured Afghan rule, and the grandeur of that is mirrored in the architecture, and structure of the buildings.

Benazir Palace - A palace built by Nawab Shah Jahan Begum in 1875, is an H-shaped building. Built with steel columns and carved wooden partitions, it boasts extensive carvings on its walls and in its 'hammam or the royal bath. The palace had a water channel with fountains.

Taj-ul-masajid, literally translating to the ‘Crown of Mosques’, is quite easily one of the grandest and most beautiful mosques in Madhya Pradesh. The external facade of the mosque is a soothing pink colour and is powered by two white-coloured domes that complete the awe-inspiring structure. The mosque features a colossal courtyard, adorned with marble flooring, and fine carvings on the pillars.

Minto Hall was constructed by Nawab Sultanjahan Begum in 1909. Bhopal presents a multi-faceted profile; the old city with its marketplaces and fine old mosques and palaces still bears the aristocratic imprint of its former rulers. Equally impressive is the new city with its verdant, exquisitely laid out parks and gardens, broad avenues, and streamlined modern edifices.

There are a lot of places to near Bhopal, which beautifully interweave history, culture, traditions, and natural wonders. From forts, palaces, and ancient caves, to old temples, serene rivers, waterfalls, and magnificent mountains.
