The state extends between 22°56’N and 24°32’N and 90°09’E and 92°10’E. Its maximum stretch measures about 184 km from north to south and 113 km from east to west with an area of 10,491.69 sq.km

Diwali Festival is organized in the month Kartik of Bengali calendar year (October-November). Although this festival lights is celebrated allover the state the central festival is held at Tripurasundari Temple in Udaipur also known as one of the 51 Hindu Pithas. During the festival Tripurasundari Temple complex turns into a sea of people transcending the barrier of communal lines. The festival runs for three consecutive days. Considered one of the major festivals in the region Deepabali ushers in brightness in all respects eliminating darkness.
